How Airline Bag Restrictions Promote Gender Discrimination (and What to do About it)
It is the consistent lack of pockets in women’s clothing that leads us to carry bags to store our essential items. And it is this custom of carrying bags on a daily basis whenever we go out that leads to the disproportionate, discriminatory effect of airline bag restrictions and other venue bag policies. In the legal world, we call this disproportionate effect a “disparate impact.”- #airlinebagpolicy

Female Founders: Barbara Zabawa of Pursesuitz Pocketwear on the Five Things You need To Thrive and Succeed as a Woman Founder
I would like women to realize that they are not wedded to social norms, like having to carry a purse or giving up their last name during marriage. I want more women to question the status quo and to seek alternatives so that they can feel more independent and free. -
No Apologies
Confidence in ourselves and in our affairs is essential to success and enjoyment. I was recently reminded of how important it is to be confident in who we are and in the decisions we make, no matter how others respond. -
Go Solo Interview: Pursuing Gender Equality with Style
Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in a clothing line but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Barbara Zabawa, founder of Pursesuitz, LLC., located in Mc Farland, WI, USA.
What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business is Pursesuitz, LLC, and we serve women who want to venture out hands and worry-free. Pursesuitz Pocketwear aims to level the playing field between men's and women's clothing by providing functional pockets in shapewear that can be worn as an undergarment or standalone activewear clothing. Too many times, women are denied the same freedom men experience because we carry our essentials in an external bag. Bags are not always allowed or practical, particularly when being active. Pursesuitz Pocketwear provides a safe, secure place for women to store their essentials without sacrificing style.
